While most kids were out trick-or-treating on Halloween, Ms. Nina was taking her first helicopter flight. It was a great opportunity for her Abba to get his three night full-stop landings in. Next time, Ms. Nina will get her landings in.
In-Flight Meals on the Cirrus Vision Jet
Ms. Nina enjoys the in-flight meals (peanut butter and jelly sandwich) and entertainment (Blippi) on a routine round-trip flight between Maryland and Florida in a Cirrus SF50-G2 Vision Jet.
Ms. Nina is Back in the SR22
Ms. Nina gets back in a Cirrus SR-22-G6 for a family trip to/from her great grandmother’s house in the suburbs of Atlanta. During the trip she builds up the courage to jump back in the front seat to log some time at the controls.
Ms. Nina Flies the Rockies
Ms. Nina logs some turbojet time as co-pilot in a Cirrus SF50-G2 Vision Jet on a flight out west. Not only does she fly out to Colorado and Utah, but she also makes several difficult landings at well-known airports like Aspen (ASE) and Leadville (LXV). She shoots the LDA-E approach with the circle-to-land maneuver at ASE and also lands and takes off at the highest airport in North America (LXV) with a density altitude of 12,054 feet.
When Flight Time and Nap Time Collide
Ms. Nina took her first flight in her very own 1946 Piper J-3C Cub. This 65 HP, wood prop, hand-start airplane is appropriately registered N133RS. (Nina’s Julian date birthday is 133.) Since she was old enough to talk, Ms. Nina has been a little apprehensive about getting in the front seat of any aircraft; however after some convincing, she finally stepped up to the plate, and then promptly fell asleep on takeoff roll.
Ms. Nina Flies International
Ms. Nina takes her second flight on a Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet. This time, she travels internationally to Great Harbour Cay, Bahamas. Not only does she successfully negotiate Customs upon her return to the United States, but she is the in-flight entertainment while she reads her favorite book to Baby to put her to sleep.
Outbound trip: June 20, 2021.
Return trip: June 22,2021.
Ms. Nina’s Second NYC Trip
Ms. Nina is already an expert on the busy New York City airspace. She was more excited about snacks than orbiting the Statue of Liberty. The in-flight meal today is Goldfish.
During refuel, Ms. Nina is outraged by the rising cost of AvGas. She also never turns down an opportunity to log some Toddler-in-Command time.
Ms. Nina’s First Flight in a Single-Engine Jet
Ms. Nina rode first class in a Cirrus Vision Jet to FL on May 06, 2021 and to MD on May 10, 2021. She is still building up the courage to sit in the front seat and wiggle the sticks.
Ms. Nina Encounters Moderate Icing
Ms. Nina was the junior co-pilot on a FIKI-equipped SR22 flight en route from Maryland to Florida on February 12, 2021. About 30 minutes into the flight, the aircraft started accreting ice on the wing that wouldn’t shed. She and her pilot discussed the possible consequences and decided to return to Maryland and land rather than continue the mission. All three persons and the SR22 made it on the ground safely.
New York City SFRA
Ms. Nina gets to experience the busiest airspace in the world from the comfort of a Cirrus SR22-G6. She was awake from the time we left Maryland until we reached the George Washington Bridge. She slept most of the ride back.
